Group Therapy is a collaborative process that lets you come together with others who share similar life goals and experiences to your own. Group Therapy can be both a stand-alone therapeutic option and an excellent supplement to individual therapy, because it provides the opportunity to explore interpersonal issues in a supportive, safe, and confidential environment.
The process of group therapy can help you in become a skilled communicator, as well as provide an environment to safely work through personal barriers. During each Group Therapy 45-minute session you will meet with 4-10 individuals; facilitated by a therapist; to openly and honestly discuss concerns and difficulties within a safe setting. The benefit of having peer individuals provide feedback, will help you learn to identify previously unacknowledged or unconscious patterns and behaviors. By sharing your feelings and experiences with others in similar situation and draw on the insights and experiences of others as you develop strategies for change.
Group therapy can help in addressing a range of problems, including anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. It has been demonstrated to be at least as effective as individual therapy and the two are particularly powerful when used at the same time.
